DISCIPLINE, FEBRUARY 2022

 

The entire body of work is done with only five colors. Yellow, Pink, Teal, gray, and Black. Shading and highlighting are done through a series of Ben-Day halftone patterns.  All colors with exception of black are my own custom colors created in-studio.

 

This is my first body of work done completely sober. I’ve dealt with addiction problems over the last few years.

 

“Discipline” means two different things. In both my paint color choices - and my personal life, I’m removing what’s unnecessary so the final outcome will be stronger and more precise.

 

This is my first body of work dealing with wealth and how it changes people. The giant monster featured in a lot of the work is a metaphor for greed - Larger than life and destroying everything in it’s path.
